100 Thousand Poets for Change Potluck, September 24th, 2011

Hello!

The first 100,000 Poets for Change happened on September 24th, 2011. It is a global event created by Michael Rothenberg and Terri Carrion. To celebrate, My husband Jack & I invited Twin Cities poets to a pot luck and filming session at our house. Each poet below will read you one or two poems and then speak very briefly on the change they’d like to see happen. Sometimes the video will be split into two parts, and that’s because we have a lot to learn about video editing. That’s one of the things we learned.

What else did we learn? We relearned that being surrounded by generous, motivating people is invigorating for days. We learned that everything we have doesn’t have to be perfect before we can work with it. We learned that we want to take this project further.

Please check back for more information on a public viewing and discussion of these videos. Then we’ll continue the discussion about change and further discuss plans for next year’s more public event.

Our deepest gratitude goes out to everyone who shared in the making of this day with us!

Paula & Jack
